simply perfect
My boyfriend suggested using it as an engagement question too… If he does this 1) of course I’m saying yes 2) someone will have to revive me from laughing myself to death :D

Kate and I went into a jewelry shop today, and as we looked through discount silver rings I mentioned that, despite never wanting to get married, I want the satisfaction of posting a picture of my engagement ring on facebook post-proposal, and getting a flood of congratulations.
It was then when I found a ring that looked like a modest engagement ring, and decided today is the day.
While people who have kept in contact with me know that I am not dating anyone, nor have I ever dated anyone, I got a good amount of “likes” from people who I haven’t spoken to in some time. Ex-classmates, ex-coworkers, people I met on the internet and don’t really talk to…
I’m having a good time tonight. Only one person has tried to spoil the fun (“Stop lying.” then, “Who’s the guy, then?”) but I deleted the latter comment. I wonder how long I can keep this going.
I encourage my facebook friends to play along and not ruin this hilarious joke, please.
Paul and I met through a mutual friend at a party when we were both finishing our final year at university. I was studying Graphic Communications at Ryerson, and he was studying Performance Arts at University of Waterloo. We clicked almost immediately, what with him being devilishly good-looking…
“The $8.3 Million that Invisible Children spent in 2011, only about $2.8 Million (roughly 31%) actually made it to Uganda, and that amount was likely further whittled down by the government, meaning the actual children got much much less. In contrast, Invisible Children spent about $2.8 Million just on the filming and producing the Kony movie (and movies like it). Essentially, they spent more charity money making a movie about their charity than they actually gave to the children.”
this. people are so fucking stupid
Know what you are spending your precious money on.

I have mixed feelings about the Kony phenomenon. On one hand I’m pleased by how swiftly and readily massive amounts of people are willing to get behind a cause. On the other hand I’m appalled by how swiftly and readily massive amounts of people are willing to get behind a cause.

So I have a Senior Seminar in my major of Anthropology this semester and I decided that I will be using my tumblr to present my project. Probably a bad idea, cause it’s not necessarily considered “professional,” but I do believe I can make this work somehow. At least I hope so. Anyway, here’s the link if you want to watch it develop:
